Chevrolet Malibu- in Ukraine, sales of a new generation of the model, which has already become the eighth in a row, started in the spring of 2012. Initially, only gasoline modifications of the car were supplied to the market, later a diesel version was added to them. The range of engines includes petrol 167-horsepower 2.4-liter "four" and 263-horsepower 3-liter V6. An alternative to gasoline units is a two-liter turbodiesel that develops 160 hp. and 350 Nm of torque.
The base transmission for four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines is a six-speed manual. But the gasoline engine, as often happens, turned out to be in a more advantageous position, because for a surcharge a six-speed automatic is also available for it, which is the only possible transmission for a six-cylinder unit.
With all engines, acceleration to “hundreds” of the Chevrolet Malibu takes less than 10 seconds, but with a V-shaped “six” under the hood, this figure is 7.9 seconds.
In terms of overall length, named after the California city of Malibu (4,865 mm), it surpasses many competitors, a long list of which includes Ford Mondeo, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, KIA Optima, Nissan Teana, Peugeot 508, Subaru Legacy, Toyota Camry And Volkswagen Passat. The "American" is also among the class leaders in terms of trunk volume, which is 545 liters.
The model is produced in many countries. For Europe, as well as the Ukrainian market, Chevrolet Malibu is produced in South Korea.
