chevrolet camaro - the revival of the family of legendary sports coupes, which in North America are often referred to as a "muscle car" for their size and power, the company took up in 2006, presenting a concept to the public. Serial production of the fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro started in 2009.
The history of the model began in 1966, when General Motors decided to create a worthy rival to the Ford Mustang, which had been successfully sold on the American market for several years. In the first full year of sales, more than 220,000 Camaros of the first generation were sold.
When developing the appearance of the current generation, designers were inspired by just the first Camaro. Nevertheless, technically these are already different cars. Now six-cylinder and eight-cylinder gasoline engines are used as power plants. The initial engine is a V-shaped 24-valve “six” with a volume of 3.6 liters, developing 312 hp. at 6,500 rpm and 370 Nm of torque at 5,200 rpm.
The most powerful unit is a 16-valve V8 with a volume of 6.2 liters, which produces 426 hp. at 5,900 rpm and 569 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm. Transmissions are provided both mechanical and automatic. In both cases, six gears.
Serial production is established in the USA.
